The ACT’s peak body for public school parents is deeply concerned over rising incidents of violence against bus drivers. We’re really disappointed to see school students taking the blame for what is a broader community issue.  

At Council, we love hearing stories of school communities getting involved in initiatives like Floriade Community.

As voters head to the polls for the upcoming ACT election, public school P&Cs across the territory are inviting the community to take part in an iconic Australian tradition — the Democracy Sausage!   

Council's highly successful Public Education Election Forum, held in the lead-up to the 2024 ACT election, attracted over 100 registrations, demonstrating the strong interest and commitment of our community to public education.

 It's hard to believe that we are already at the end of Term 3. It has been a busy time for the P&C Council and for our members. 

Parents have an important role in supporting children as they prepare to start preschool or kindergarten. A smooth transition helps children to become secure, confident learners, ready to engage with educators and peers.

The ACT Council of Parents & Citizens Associations, the parent voice on public education, is extremely disappointed and disturbed that a student may have been subject to a restrictive practice in an ACT public school.

ACT’s peak body for public school parents is disappointed to see that public education will receive the bare minimum in today’s Budget allocations - with funding to repair leaky school roofs, teach children to read and write, and ensure some students are fed. 

Hosting a successful fete is often seen as the crowning achievement of a P&C.

While they can be a daunting task to organise, the rewards through fundraising and community building can be enormous.
