Without limiting the choice of alternative business models and recognising that there could be other models not yet identified, the following may be considered in place of the current conventional P&C business model:
- The current model - P&C as an Incorporated Association. (There is more information and further considerations in our analysis of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats associated with this model).
- No parent association or committee but informal forums/parent gatherings hosted by the school with fundraising also by the school. (See SWOT analysis.)
- P&C Council as the legally constituted parent body with some school P&Cs being subcommittees of the Council. (See SWOT analysis.)
- Amalgamation of P&Cs in local areas into an area or regional committee covering a number of like or networked schools. (See SWOT analysis.)
- P&C association divested of all business activities eg canteen, uniform shop, before/after school care programs etc. (See SWOT analysis.)
- A formalised parent advisory or reference group to the school board. (See SWOT analysis.)
